Political parties & Nigeria’s Republic since 1963

A republic is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter", not the private concern or property of the rulers. The primary positions of power within a republic are attained through democracy; oligarchy, autocracy, or a mix thereof, rather than being unalterable occupied. It could also be defined as a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.
Nigeria became a Republic in 1963, when Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe became the ceremonial President of Nigeria and Alhaji Tafawa Belewa was the Prime Minister. We shall discuss the Political parties that participated in each of the Republics of Nigeria in our subsequent games, as you please note that Nigeria is presently on her 4th Republic. The four Republics Nigeria had gone through are as follows:
1. First Republic (1960 – 1966)
2. Second Republic (1979 – 1983)
3. Third Republic (1996 – 1998)
4. Fourth Republic (1999 – Present).
In our subsequent games, we shall itemize the political parties that participated in the election of each of the Republics mentioned above.
